Media release: Meg O’Neill appointed Woodside CEO

The voice of the Australian oil and gas industry today congratulated Meg O’Neill on her appointment as Woodside’s Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director. APPEA Chief Executive Andrew McConville said Ms O’Neill’s vast experience and proven track record made her an excellent choice.

“I have worked with Meg on the APPEA Board and have always found her an outstanding executive,” Mr McConville said.

“Armed with 27 years’ experience working in the global oil and gas industry, her leadership and credentials make her an ideal choice to lead Woodside.

“Meg has been instrumental in leading the Scarborough development which, if approved, would deliver significant benefits.

“Scarborough gas would be a source of cleaner energy for Western Australia and play an important role helping overseas customers meet emissions reduction targets in their own countries.

“The development would provide thousands of construction jobs and hundreds of on-going operational jobs for Western Australians and opportunities for local businesses.”
